They are most likely completely irritated about bad/ broken equipment, road works ruining their day by cutting lines, and other things!!

you are one of the *lucky* ones! :) :)
This is a big country, and 'internet' is a LOT more complex than a simple device you buy, and can take back to the shop if it does not work properly!!
ISPs have to make HUGE investments, and cannot afford to charge high prices, due to lots of competition - It is no wonder why there are only 2 or 3 basic networks out there...

I could say it is like doing a 'credit deal' with a car seller, if it crashes or goes badly wrong, you are STILL bound by the credit deal..

that is *simple* compared to an ISP service deal.... millions of installations over the country, there is bound to be problems, due to miles of cable disturbed by road works, problems with distribution boxes, etc, etc..

That is why I say if your needs are NOT 'just fast download' go to a *smaller* ISP like Zen, who have much less customers to deal with... :)

Yeah well that's the trouble and probably one of the reasons I've stayed with the same provider - bette the devil you know ... - everyone has a story but lately I've heard good things about BT

shows SKY (optical) and Virgin the best... It all depends if you can get a dish, or prefer cable... If you look at prices, they are all about the same, after the 'free period'...
A friend of mine will NEVER get BT, she has been messed around so much...

I want them to fix it - no one else claims they can have the speeds that virgin have. Its coming though - BT will be on 1000mbs soon . I might just switch and wait.

oh yes!!! Illiad the second one does ...... LOL II was testing wifi - I must have completely lost the wifi and it switched over to my phone carrier automatically - so thats worse, I pay for that on top if it does that..... I didn't even notice thanks, ALL of the others are Virgin though.

I am now in my third week of monitoring my VM broadband speed and quite frankly I am appalled by this company's failure to get anywhere near the promised speed on a consistent basis. The average download speed for the first week was 62Mbps while in the second week it was 77. Unless performance over the next 3 days significantly improves I think the average for week 3 will be lower than those for the previous 2 weeks. I know my figures are nowhere near as ridiculously low as some quoted on her but nevertheless I am not getting what I am paying for! Another concern is my lack of faith in the product through VM's failures which require me to spend time checking and recording my broadband speed. Once week three is completed I shall be contacting VM about its failure to meet its obligations.

It worked for me on two devices. How is it empty mine has loads of entries for different things ? Are you looking in the right folder and have you reconnected it to your PC - mine auto syncs so maybe you need to sync, can you check that and let me know - so I can add it to the post if it needs to sync.
